Saturday
afternoon, following the workshops, our Mentors will convene a lively,
fun discussion on the pros & cons, ins & outs, and ups & downs
of showbiz as it relates to screenwriters. The moderator will be SHELLY
MELLOTT, Editor-in-Chief of Script Magazine. Shelly is now
celebrating her seventh year at the helm of the premiere printed resource
for screenwriters. She also administrates www.scriptmag.com,
an online screenwriter's community. She is currently writing an action/thriller
screenplay and plans to be shooting an independent film in Spring.
Words of Wisdom
The Mentors and Academy Mentors will discuss their particular points of view about the art and craft of screenwriting and will take questions from the audience.
Live Readings
Thursday evening and Friday afternoon, a total of twenty enrollees will have the opportunity to hear their scenes read by a cadre of actors in front of a live audience. A five-minute scene critique, led by a moderator, will follow each reading.
(Because of the limited amount of time for readings, you must let us know when you register that you wish to submit the opening eight to twelve pages of one of your screenplays. Scenes will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis while slots remain available. They go fast.)
